Easy Detox Steps

To detox is to rid your body of poisons or toxins. So how do we detoxify our bodies? There are a few simple ways you can do this, and luckily they’re all pretty simple and don’t involve colonic irrigation...

Exercise
Get at least 30 minutes of moderate exercise, such as jogging, playing soccer or swimming, each day. Exercise helps circulate blood, which carries nutrients and oxygen, around the body, and it lowers levels of blood cholesterol, glucose and fat. It will make you feel better and will help you burn off excess calories.

Lay off the caffeine
Lay off the caffeine and that includes coffee, cola, V, Red Bull, Demon and some types of tea. Caffeine despite its benefits
can dehydrate you. Caffeine is addictive and if you have too much it make you jittery, rather than energetic. Because it is addictive, you will need a bigger dose to get a hit, making you more dehydrated.

Eat more fibre
Bran flakes, wholemeal bread and brown rice are all great sources of fibre. Fibre is essential for good health and will make you feel fantastic. It helps the digestive system function properly, controls blood glucose levels and diabetes, controls blood cholesterol levels, and it makes you feel full.

Drink water
Swap your wine for a cool glass of water. Drink six to eight glasses per day to keep you hydrated and help lift your concentration levels. Having enough water means that your body can regulate your body temperature, aid digestion and help prevent constipation.

Eat more fruit and vegetables
Fruit and vegetables are your friends! Eat at least five serves
of fruit and vegetables per day. Fruit and veggies are great for your bod; they’re full of fibre, vitamin C, folate, and selenium, which are needed for growth and your immune system. Leafy green vegetables are extra special because they are good sources of vitamin K (which is needed to help your blood clot when you get a cut) and iron.

Avoid alcohol
Having an occasional drink is fine. Alcohol is actually a poison, have too much at once and you will become quite acquainted with the loo.

Drinking heavily on a regular basis can cause damage to your liver (primary function is to clear your body of toxins) and brain. It can cause you to gain weight and it can cause social problems. Alcohol is also a serious dehyrdater; avoid it for a while and you will feel much better.
