With Lauren’s Hen's Night already over, we get the lowdown from our other bride, Sarah, about her last wild night of singledom. From strippers, shots and pole dancing, check out what she got up to here…
Well the day approached for my big Hen’s night. I had a little bit of input into the night but all of it was organised by my bridesmaids. They had planned the Hen’s Night in three stages and did an amazing job.
1: Pole dancing
2:Drinks and nibbles at my house
3:Heading off into town
They arranged it this way so people could pick and choose which part they wanted to come to. So my mum and friends with kids who didn’t want to go into town could just come for the part that suited them.
Part one was pole dancing at Kiwi Pole Fitness. The place looks like a night club with amazing lights and great music. We took some drinks and the instructor would show you a piece of a routine and then you had to have a go. I have always wanted to try pole dancing and it was so much fun. I really enjoyed it but am not sure if I was very sexy. That might come later on after a few more lessons. I have heard that pole dancing is great fitness and it must be as I had sore muscles for the next few days afterwards.
Part two was back to my house were we had drinks and nibbles. There ended up being around 15 girls and everyone of them had brought some food. My bridesmaids had organised everyone t-shirts, devil horns and whistles from HENSinc.co.nz. The t-shirts had “Sarah’s Hen’s Party” and the date written on them, and they looked great. The girls had also organised some games where they asked me questions, and if I got the answer wrong whistles were blown and I had to do a shot of punch. Now usually these questions are all about your husband to be. My bridesmaids thought that was boring and pretty much made a lot of them up so I was guessing and getting it wrong most of the time.
The next minute I was told to sit on a chair and in walked a Fireman. Now I never would have chosen a stripper on my own accord, but man it was so much fun and surprise, surprise he was a really nice guy. Even my mum thought he was nice and that I handled it well. I was dancing as much as the stripper and at one point it seemed he didn’t know what to do with me and I got plonked back onto my chair. The funny thing is when it is happening to you, you don’t really get to check him out because he is dancing around you but all my friends had a great time. We all became best friends with Gino even when he had his clothes on.
So for part three of the night where we were heading into town. Now I must have been very stressed with all the wedding planning and worrying about what was going to happen during the Hen’s Night because one minute I was partying and the next I was in bed. I never even made it into town.
The rest of the girls did not let that hinder there good night and headed into town by themselves with a stand in “imposter” hen and they had a fantastic night.
Now I wish I had managed to go out; I am not usually a piker. But you really don’t realise how stressed and nervous you are leading up to the wedding and it must have all hit me. I suppose the good part is that it ended up being a very cheap night for me and I had a good nights sleep. I finally woke up at 5.30am when my husband to be/stag got home told me all about what he had got up to.
