Healthy Desserts for Cooler Nights

Ice cream weather is over and warm, comforting deserts become more appealing when the temperature drops. So if you are feeling like something special, here are some yummy, but healthier dessert options to try. Apple and Berry Crumble Add an antioxidant boost to a traditional apple crumble with some frozen berries. Serves 4-5  4 apples, peeled and cored ½ cup mixed frozen berries juice and zest of one lemon 2 1/2 tablespoons reduced fat ricebran oil spread, or other reduced fat spread 3 tablespoons brown sugar 1 teaspoon cinnamon ¼ cup flour 3 tablespoons rolled oats Cook the apples together with the berries in the microwave for 5-10 minutes, until the apple is cooked. Mash with a potato masher. Place apple in an ovenproof dish. In a bowl, melt the spread and mix in sugar, cinnamon, flour and rolled oats. Crumble over the top of the apple and bake at 180 degrees celcius for around 20 minutes.

Take one Weight Watchers Raspberry Pie fruit bar and microwave for 30  seconds. Serve with a small scoop of reduced fat ice-cream. Aunt Bettys de-lites Sticky Toffee Steamed Pudding Enjoy a steamed pudding guilt free with Aunt Bettys De-Lites range. These puddings are 95% fat free and high in fibre.
