So how did you go with your May challenges - did you find a way to push yourself outside your comfort zone? Check off your challenges below and don't forget to look for a new crop to help you push your boundaries in June.
TAME Update your numbers. Go through and delete all the contacts in your cellphone that are out of date or you don’t ever talk to. Next step is to update your physical address book (if you don’t have one, go buy one) and make sure that all your important numbers are in there. That way if something happens to your cellphone, you’ve got a backup.
Be a New Zealand music supporter. Pull out all of your fav kiwi CDs, request them on the radio, download them on iTunes or go and check them out live in concert. May is Music Month, so now is the perfect time to show your nzgirl colours and get behind all our wicked artists!
Get your bank accounts sussed. Most of us probably don’t visit our banks nearly as much as we should! If you haven’t been in for a while, now is the time to do a bit of research and figure out if you’re with the best bank possible for you and find out what other banks are offering. We like these options here...
Give your bed a makeover. Mouldy, old blankets? Flat pillows? Go luxe for witner and invest in lovely, plump pillows, duvets and soft, warm sheets. Briscoes is always having great sales, so keep an eye out. You’ll be guaranteed sweet dreams!
INTERMEDIATE
Give your house a thorough clean. I’m talking the whole shebang – vacuum, mop the floors, do the skirting, dust off all those cobwebs and polish those windows. Set aside a whole weekend and do the job properly. The weather may be miserable outside, but keep your house nice and cosy on the inside and you’ll be away laughing.
Up your immune system. Make it your goal to boost your immune this year, so you’re not spending it feeling sick and disgusting. Start eating healthy, exercising regularly, sleeping well and dosing up on Vitamin C and Echinacea. We’ve got more great tips and tricks coming later this month, so keep your eyes peeled!
Make friends with your fav band (via the net!). Now this may sound a little random, but with the social networking technologies of today, it’s easier than ever to get in touch with every and any one! Jump on Facebook, Twitter or MySpace and make it your mission to track down one of your fav musical acts and become their friend (and see if you can get some contact out of them). Just don’t become a fanatic stalker!
CHALLENGING
Take up a fitness challenge. Don’t let the cold, depressing weather stop you from being active this year! Pledge to keep
a regular fitness routine going to help keep your body and spirits in tip top shape. Whether it’s going to the gym at least three times a week, walking the dog every night or taking up a winter sport, figure out a fitness regime and stick to it. If you’re up for it you can always try our 6 Week Challenge (and go in the draw to win some fab goodies)!
Learn to play an instrument. Make it your goal to finally master that one instrument you’ve always felt lured towards. Pick an instrument and book lessons (or at least grab a book or DVD to help you). It’ll be music month every month! Don’t buy any meals for an entire week. Winter is about delicious, hearty and home cooked meals after all anyways, so why not get into the spirit and make it your goal to cook all of your meals for an entire week. No eating out or takeaways, instead go for delicious roasts, hearty soups and scrummy sandwiches. Your bank balance will look much better and I’m sure your body will love the lack of processed foods too.
