Window Shopping: Kowtow
Kowtow.co.nz brings you style and a good conscience. Fashion can now go hand in hand with improving worldwide industries that are currently severely lacking in ethics. The Kowtow team is seeking to fight off big, nasty, polluting, slave-labour companies by, well, being exactly the opposite. Find out how…
What is it? Kowtow produce certified Fair Trade and Organic garments and products, advocating human rights and supporting worldwide issues that are far too often ‘swept under the carpet.’ Their clothes are designed with comfort and sustainability in mind, as well as great style. They look fantastic and definitely make a statement! Why visit? I love checking out what’s available online when I get bored of the fashion in stores. All the big chain shops offer very similar mass-produced garments, so if you are looking for something truly different and innovative, then this is the place to go! Best Feature? The ‘About’ section has plenty of information on Fair Trade & Organic products, so by visiting this site you can not only see some gorgeous items, but you can also learn about the reasons behind their business. Their philosophy is spot on – buyers should be proud to wear their clothes!

Checking Out?If you are familiar with any kind of online shopping at all then the process is very simple. Have a browse at all the products in the ‘Shop’ section and select the ones you want. Make sure you select what size and colour you want the product in. Then click ‘view cart’, submit your order and fill in the online form. Bonus! If you sign up to their mailing list in March then you will be into win a free CD! ‘Cedar and Steel’ is a compilation of folk and acoustic by Tim Beals. Perfect for those lazy Sunday mornings. Plus you’ll also get a free CD with every garment! Where do I start? Head along to the site, www.kowtow.co.nz and join up today! They have some lovely stuff, in both men’s and women’s designs. My personal favourite is the ‘Tea Time’ tee! Very cute. Happy shopping! Jess O’Connor
