Wondering how you can get the top model look for yourself? We asked New Zealand’s very own answer to Tyra Banks, New Zealand’s Next Top Model judge, Sara Tetro to share her top five tips for looking hot…
1: An honest approach to style and fashion
Yeah, well we all want to wear the same thing Gisele got ‘papped’ down the beach in last week - but does that honestly suit us? Be realistic about your body shape and dress accordingly. Some fashions may or may not work for you and that’s ok. For example: Boyfriend jeans are in (this week anyway) if they make you look enormous don’t get hung up on that style and buy a pair of jeans in a current wash instead.
2: Heels, heels, heels
Invest in a good pair and learn to walk in them with ease and confidence. They’ll elongate your legs and a sexy shoe makes you feel well dressed and well… Hot!
3: Underwear
Does your underwear:
Fit properly?
Shape and support you where needed?
Does your bra give you ‘4 boobs’ or ‘Madonna points’?
Is it the right colour for your outfit?
Are your white knickers grey?
Firstly: Make sure your underwear works for you, supports you and flatters you. Then move it up a notch girls, there is nothing like wearing gorgeous underwear and hosiery (stay ups are great) to make you feel hot!
4: Freshen your makeup and hair
Critique your makeup bag honestly. It’s easy to get stuck on the same lipstick and foundation color year after year. Complexions change with seasons and colors need updating. You don’t need to spend a lot of money to have a great make-up bag. Same goes for your hair. Have you had the same cut and color for too long? Or equally as bad: do you change your cut and color every 5 minutes? Save up and go to a good hairdresser. A proper cut will last longer anyway and is well worth the investment. Red lips and a blow wave will make anyone feel hot!
5:Feel good about yourself
That’s not some PC statement I’m writing to sound good either. I’ve had gorgeous girls come into my office who hang their heads slightly because they’re not feeling good about themselves as opposed to girls who bound in feeling a million bucks. They are the ones who stand out. Posture and body language girls, it’s vital!
