TAME Try walking more. Let your body inhale some beautiful, fresh air while you walk to work or the supermarket. Walk the whole hog, get off the bus earlier or park your car that further away. This will help you save on transport costs and get your body moving!
Pay off that credit card. Don’t you just cringe when you think about how much is owing on yours? The sooner you pay that credit card off, the sooner you can get saving. If you can’t totally rid yourself of your credit card, at least trying switching to a debit plus card. That way you can still shop online, but at least you’re only spending your money!
Start a piggy bank. Sound silly? Well that loose change you throw at the bottom of your handbag will eventually come into good use. At the end of each month empty out the piggy bank and take your partner or friend out for a well deserved dinner date; after all, you have been good!
Cut out that treatie. Stop buying at least one non-essential item each week - whether it's that daily can of coke, cup or coffee or weekly magazine. Stop buying it and watch your money grow in your hot little hands!
INTERMEDIATE
Set a weekly budget. Set yourself a weekly budget, we all tend to over spend on unnecessary items every week. Budget out for your weekly food, transport costs and any extra things that are required for that week. Setting a budget for the week will also help to kick start that savings account of yours!
Treat yourself once now and again. Sometimes we get so caught up in our busy lifestyles that we actually forget about ourselves! So take some time out to treat yourself, your body and mind needs to relax every now and then. Take yourself down to the beautician and treat yourself to a massage or a facial; after all, you have earnt it.
Get crafty. So you need a new dress? Don’t buy one, use what you’ve already got and get crafty! Either make a dress from old fabrics or alter one you already have. And don’t stop at dresses – think of anything you ‘want’ and see if you can make it (or at least create a substitute) all by yourself. You’ll save moolah, have a bit of fun and get creative as well!
CHALLENGING
Arrange for a dinner party at your place. Host a dinner party at your place. When was the last time you got to hang out with your old buddies? If it feels like a lifetime, it probably is! This will be a great way to catch up with those buddies and enjoy a yummy dinner.
Save for something big. That house, car, or beautiful holiday you’ve had your eye on for quite sometime now can be put into reality. Start putting money aside for your savings account to save for your well deserved house, car or holiday.
Step out of your comfort zone. Do that activity you’ve always thought about but have been too scared to do. Maybe a skydive or a bungy? Maybe you take on an exercise plan or maybe you go on your OE once and for all – even if it’s by yourself! Let yourself go and take the challenge, you’ll feel a great sense of achievement and will most probably love it and want to do it again!
