Fresh Off The Runways

Grab out the tulip skirts, wrap yourself in a little black and white, and bring on the flirty 30’s!

We dissect the hottest trends fresh from the runways of Paris, Milan and New York, from the hottest new shades, to the shapes we will be buying soon…

Black and white is alright
White and black is the look du jour with most designers trotting the classic look down the catwalk. Not only is it easy to wear it’s a nice toned down way to herald in a new season of trends. Love!

1: Antonio Berardi
2: Yves Saint Laurent
3: Chanel
4: Ann Demeulemeester

Lots of volume
Volume sits in skirts, and around necklines in shirts and dresses. Think of billowing shapes, soft layers or pillow like tailoring and you have the trend summed up. It’s all about creating a feeling of depth and luxury.

1: Louis Vuitton
2: Balmain
3: Sophia Kokosalakai
4: RM by Roland Mouret

New shapes
The tulip shape gets a little bit of a rework, whilst everything from dresses to suiting its nipped, tucked and wrapped in new and exciting ways. Think of garments as oragami or architecture, and you are right on the money.

1: Balenciaga
2: Louis Vuitton
3: John Galiano
4: Rue Du Mail

We love popping colour
Rich tealy greens, popping shades of orange, bright and bold pinks right through to citrus splashes of lemon and soft whispy blushes. The colours were definitely out in force for the new fall collections, showing colour will be key next season!

1: Valentino
2: Nina Ricci
3: Christian Dior
4: Emanuel Ungaro

We are poor darling!
With all the doom and gloom about the current economic climate, some expected designers to really pare it back for the latest shows. What resulted however was inspiration from the eras of economic downturn that just happened to have a little excess to them; the 30s, war torn 40s and the 1980s – who knew economics could be so fun!

1: Christian Dior
2: Rue Du Mail
3: Mi Miu
4: Viktor & Rolf

Anya Merryfield

Can't quite afford Dior or Miu Mui? Inject a shot of new season inspiration into your look with Revlon’s new Creme Gloss! It gives you the full colour impact of a lipstick with extreme shine of a lipgloss. The unique flow through pen with brush allows for a smooth, even application that delivers mega-watt colour, which fuses with light reflecting particles to make lips look fuller. You get outrageously smooth, explosively sexy lips. This do-it-all also includes vitamin E to condition lips and is available in 10 full colour shades.
