Ronan - Live

Well I went to Ronan Keating in Wellington on Tuesday (16th of July) and while thinking before the show that it was going to be a LONG three hours, it turned out to be one of the best concerts I have ever been too.

Well where to start .... Carly Binding (You remember her?) she’s the one of five that shot to stardom in the kiwi equivalent of “Popstars”. Well Carly is doing pretty nice for herself so far considering she hasn’t yet had her first single out and album and she already has opened for Mr Ronan Keating that quite an achievement in itself. Carly’s performance was really good her voice sounded good but her vocab was a little muffled if that makes sense. Her songs sound all the same in apart from her up and coming single “Alright With You”. For some reason though the audience reacted well and gave a huge applause but that's because they knew Ronan was up next.

It wasn't to long till we as the audience had to wait for Mr Ronan to appear but to keep us occupied there was lots of music and video clips to watch. Plus not forgetting the whole audience turning around (looking just past me may I add) to see not just one All Black but about 7 or 8 and I mean guys like Justin Marshall and Mr Jonah Lomu sitting behind me.

Anyway about Ronan..... the set, the sound, the music was amazing. After a few technical issues right at the beginning of “Loving Each Day” (the second song for the night) and a quick mic change everything seemed to run pretty smoothly.

The lighting was amazing and it seemed that the whole audience was screaming for joy when Ronan sung those high notes, did a bit of a gig, or flashed those pearly white.

Ronan Keating was a fantastic performer and it was a great thrill when he talked to the audience about his time in New Zealand, The All Blacks and what he had been up to in the time since he had parted ways from the band that made him a household name “Boyzone“.

Ronan sung two songs that Boyzone recorded he also sung songs from his debut solo album “Ronan” and his follow up “Destination”. He also sung a “brown eyes” you know the one “brown eyed girl” which got everyone singing and dancing even me sitting on my seat.

Out of 10 Ronan was a 8.5 and lets just hope we have more wicked performances from international acts like Mr Ronan Keating.

Alana
