Dear nzgirl, I'm sending you this postcard from...
Thailand! A two week adventure to Bangkok, Koh Samui, Krabi and Phuket with six mates.
My first thought when I stepped off the plane was...
Wahoo we are finally here! And hmmmm....I hope our hotel organised our transfers, this place is rather big!
My craziest night was...
It would have to be New Year’s – Koh Phangan beach filled with 30,000+ people all going nuts! Also, a night in Koh Samui, we asked a taxi driver to take us to “party party”. He took us to an awesome club where we drunk cocktails in jugs then onto the Green Mango where we had buckets of booze and danced the night away! The coolest thing I saw was... Apart from a super cute, chubby little Thai boy, this beautiful lagoon we went into on our Phi Phi Islands boat trip. It was pure bliss and it was really cool being there with all my great mates – it is now my happy place. Everything was so cool because it is sooo different, I mean we saw a protest with hundreds of thousands of people – mind blowing! The hottest bargain I found was… It's so different from home because... So many reasons! Everything is different from the hygiene standards (we saw meat being cooked on a car bonnet), lack of road rules (they are INSANE drivers, I thought I was going to die several times and they quite happily put all seven of us in a taxi and even five in the tuk tuk!) to the landscape and their general way of life. Plus there are hawkers EVERYWHERE. I'd like to come back next time and... Spend more time relaxing on the beautiful beaches, travel up north and go to more un-commercialised areas. I could spend a few months/years there easy! Plus I would have more massages, ‘foot scrubs” and buy more DVDs as they are all so cheap! I'd recommend this place to you... Because it is sooo amazing! The cities are crazy, the beaches are breathtaking and the people are so beautiful and caring!
