This week we’ve got a gorgie dress (at a very hot price), a delish Easter treat and your chance to win tickets to the return of an iconic kiwi play…
Living Doll Corset Dress
Always one to love a good bargain, I’ve fallen in love with the very cute and super affordable range of dresses on offer at Farmers this season. There’s an abundance of gorgie dresses, from funky tartan prints to luxe cocktail dresses, but my pick of the bunch has to be this Living Doll Corset Dress. As our very own fashion guru Anya exclaimed, “It picks up on all the trends of this season”. The zip detailing is so hot right now, and the corset style is universally flattering, classic and chic. Best of all, this dress comes in a very wallet friendly price – only $79.99.
The return of No.2
Ten years since it first hit the stage, and three years since it stormed the big screen, Toa Fraser’s dazzling hit, No.2, is back. Just as Madeleine Sami impressed critics worldwide in 1999, she’s gearing up to do it all over again. If you only go to one theatre production this year, make sure it’s this one! No.2 tells the story of a Fijian matriarch who organises a family feast so that she can announce her successor – it's a fab mix of comedy and drama. No.2 is on from Wednesday April 1 – Saturday April 11. Tickets are priced from $25 – 45. For more info visit www.pumphouse.co.nz
WIN: We’ve got one double pass to give away to a lucky nzgirl! Get yourself in the draw by answering this question: How many years has it been since No.2 debuted on stage? Mocha Hot Cross Buns Here in the office we’ve been getting into the festive spirit of Easter by eating copious amount of chocolate and hot cross buns. One of our fav treaties so far has been these delicious Mocha Hot Cross Buns from Baker's Delight. If you’re a coffee lover you’ll love the ingenious blend of coffee and mixed spice flavour. Grab a fresh pack from your local Baker's Delight for only $1.80 each or in a six-pack for $9.00. They’re amaze – trust us!
Sloggi Colours
The weather may be getting colder, greyer and all round crappier (hello winter!), but that doesn’t mean that your underwear needs to follow suit! We love the new range from Sloggi – think bright, bold and beautiful, the perfect antidote for ditching those winter blues. The collection is super cute, but also super comfy and affordable (something we’re all conscious about right now). In particular I love the Sloggi Colours set, with the gorgie underwire bra and hipster – coming in at a measley $22.99 and $12.99 respectively! Sloggi is available at Farmers nationwide.
YWCA The Power of Peer Mentoring
Let’s face it – times are tough right now, so it’s more important than ever to make sure that you’re empowered with the knowledge and skills to help you stand out from the crowd. The Auckland YWCA is running a series of inspiring lectures to help young nzgirls develop leadership skills and gain invaluable knowledge from other women. On April 2 (Thursday, 6-7pm at the Chicane Cocktail Lounge, 198 Ponsonby Road) the YWCA is holding a lecture on the power of peer mentoring.
Head along and you’ll get the rare opportunity to interact with a group of successful women, get help and advice for business career and personal issues and transform leadership and business relationships. All that for only $15 – a very wise investment! Book online at www.akywca.org.nz and call 09 0917 9250 for more information.
