When it comes to the world of fashion, there are stylish people. There are designers and there are models. The most important of them all is the Fashion Idol – the person whose look defines them, and whose style we want to emulate. From the sexy vixens who make black dresses and full lips look effortless to the off-kilter styles of up and coming starlets, we share some our favourite style and fashion idols; and share some of our favourite ways to capture their look.
The Sexy Idol: Angelina
We love Angelina’s smoking hot approach to style, from her well chosen dresses to her silky long tresses. It’s hard to talk about the divine Angelina however, without mentioning her perfect pout. Angelina is a fan of an old trick of mine, a neutral lip colour with a slight hint of shimmer coated with a swipe of gloss. The look gives definition (in a toned down way) and a look of fullness. Keep lips in tip-top condition with the use of a moisturising lip balm and regular gentle exfoliation.
Make sure your lips are looking luxe and luscious by keeping cold sores at bay. We love Compeed’s Cold Sore Patches, they discretely cover your cold sore with an invisible patch that soothes itching and burning and promotes faster healing - you can even pop lipstick over the top! 4: Napoleon Peris Gloss Patrol US$20.00 from Napoleon
The Tailored Idol: The Hepburns
When it came to selecting an idol to represent the tailored side of fashion - the classic chic look - I couldn’t choose just one. The two women I chose both worked in silver screen film and both shared the same last name. Audrey Hepburn was a vision of feminine tailoring, where as Katherine Hepburn was a rebel who wore pants when the idea was unthinkable. Both were heroes of the tailored chic era and, by following their cues of clean lines and simplicity, we can all achieve a timeless elegant feel.
3: Game Of Graces Black Silk Pipe Top £59.00 from Asos
The Individual Idol: Chloe Sevigny
I love a girl who can wear something left of centre and totally own it. Fashion rebels are a longstanding idea, but to me Chloe Sevigny is one of the best and brightest. Whether it’s donning an unexpected lip colour, an off the runway shoe or a look which pulls together all the trends that people are too scared to wear, Miss Sevigny manages to look elegant, stylish and individual – always.
