About to head to the gym? Don’t leave the house without these workout essentials.
1: Water
It may sound obvious, but you’re not going to get very far exercising without a nice big bottle of water on hand. You’re going to be sweating out a lot of fluids in your massive workout, so be sure to rehydrate. With up to 60 per cent of your body made up of water, it’s one of those important things to make sure you replace. We don’t want you passing out, or in more extreme cases, shrivelling up to prune status!
2: Exercise Bra
Exercise and boobs aren’t the best of friends so keep those jugs in check with a correctly fitted sports bra. Your breasts are delicate things and all that jumping around can not only lead to discomfort, but also stretch marks and sagging further down the track. Take the time to find a bra that suits your body and your needs, your breasts will thank you for it.
3: Comfy gear
You’re at the gym to work out not be checked out so keep the clothes at a comfortable level. You don’t want to be held down by heavy materials or oversized clothes, nor do you want to be shimmying into the tightest little shorts possible. Practicality is key, think breathable materials that let you move.
3: Supportive shoes
It’s also worth making sure you have a good pair of running shoes to optimise comfort and support during your work out. That little bit of cushioning will protect your feet so you can go harder for longer. Also look for breathability in your shoes to help keep you cool and minimise the smelly feet!
4: Deodorant
Working up a sweat is good, being drenched in your own sweat is not. Minimise the self-drench by investing in a good deodorant to keep you feeling fresh. Having a good deodorant onside also has the spin off effect of keeping you up in the confidence stakes (sweat stains are just a downer) and when you’re feeling good, you’re more likely to put more into it.
