Who knew that a little zip could turn from something that closed our jacket into something that made that same jacket so hot we had to buy it. That said, there are a good and bad sides to every trend.
Just because I've been finding zips on the bottoms of my pants, does not mean I condone it. That is of course, unless you are Ksubi, who get the formulation so right with their zippy Low Rise Super Skinnys - the perfect addition to the zip finished Saint James dress from Lippy.
When it comes to the zippy fashion set, no one sums up the trend more than Agyness Deyn, which is part of the reason we fell for the Agyness shirt from Sportsgirl – with just enough punkness to be interesting, yet with a simple shape to keep it soft and feminine. The Witchery ruffle and zip skirt has appeared on nzgirl and Flossie.com a couple of times already, and despite being sold out online, I've seen a few in stores around Auckland.
My favourites? The accessories of course; from the zip and eyelet belt from Farmers to the toned-down elegance of the ASOS mini zip bag, just the things to snap up if you’re not sure about zips in your wardrobe.
