What tunes do your fav kiwi artists have blasting through their iPods? This month we ask Nathan King (you’ll remember him from Zed) to share the songs that he’s loving at right now. Plus, we also share how you can score one of Nathan’s wicked tracks for FREE, for your very own iPod!
1: ‘I Bet You Look Good On The Dancefloor’ Arctic Monkeys
After seeing them at the Big Day Out recently I was reminded what a cool sound these guys have and how much I miss the English accent from my days living in London.
2: ‘Dry Your Eyes Mate’ The Streets
This guy's lyrics are so brutally honest it makes me rethink how I write sometimes...and once again I'm a sucker for that cool British accent!
3: ‘Half Light’ Athlete
For some reason I got this stuck in my head for days just recently. It's just such a hopeful track with cool production.
4: ‘Father & Son’ Cat Stevens
I saw my Dad recently (who lives in Nelson) so I was reminded of this old Cat Stevens song. It's definitely one of his better tunes - really insightful.
5: ‘Strawberry Swing’ Coldplay
This one I play whilst dancing around the room with our little nine-month-old daughter, Ruby, before her bedtime. It's got a cool little guitar groove and I'm convinced it helps her get to sleep.
