There’s a new generation of cocktails being shaken and stirred in bars every where, delicious, refreshing and super satisfying tea cocktails! We’ve picked out five our fav recipes to help you test out the tea trend for yourself…
Smashed zesty green martini
After something different? Try this delicious Smashed Zesty Green Martini. Simply muddle 2 fresh limes in a shaker and add 4 parts Bacardi, 3 parts Cointreau and 4 parts freshly brewed Bell Zesty green tea citrus (3 bags per 2 cups of water). Shake and strain into a glass. Top with a splash of lemonade and garnish with mint. Delicious and so refreshing!
Iced white tea
This is the perfect icy summer sip – you won’t be able to stop at one! Pour 2 cups of chilled Twinings white tea, 2 cups of chilled sparkling wine (for a yummy non alcoholic version use grape juice instead) and 6 tablespoons of freshly squeezed lime juice into a medium sized jug and stir well. Add sugar to taste. Pour the iced tea into ice-filled glasses. Garnish with lime slices or wedges. This jug makes a generous amount and serves 2-4.
Green tea and mint mojito This delish cocktail mojito is super easy to make, but super tasty and impressive. Muddle fresh mint leaves, a sliced and diced lime and 4 sugar cubes. Fill a hiball glass with crushed iced, add 50ml white rum and top up with Twinings green tea and mint. Stir well.
Royal tea This cocktail was created for the film The Queen by Beefeater Gin. It’s easy to drink with a simple and clean taste. Try it for yourself! Pour 2 parts gin, 2 parts brewed and chilled Early Gray tea, a squeeze of lemon juice and spoonful of sugar into a glass filled with ice. To finish simply garnish with lime wheels – easy!
Tea-tini This is perfect for warm summer days; it’s refreshing and full of flavour. It’s a lighter take on the popular Long Island Iced Tea. Pour 50ml vodka, 30ml sweet iced tea and 10ml fresh lemon juice into a shaker filled with ice. Shake well, strain into a chilled cocktail glass rimmed with sugar and garnish with a lemon wedge. Voila!
