One of my favourite things about Beyonce is her ability to go over the top and not look completely insane. Red carpet event? Why not wear a slinky, silk gown and tonnes of diamonds? Why not indeed! A little closer to home we can take on ideas around her garments, such as the colour of the dress, but maybe leave the OTT embellishments to the red carpet diva herself…
We don’t see it much these days but I always loved dressed down Beyonce, well, if you count sky high red heels as dressed down (obviously she does!). This look counts on the share simplicity and streamlined nature of her picks. Keep the denim and the tee fitted, and use keep the accessories minimal.
Not sure how you feel about Beyonce’s new alter ego Sacha Fierce? Neither are we really, but I do love her strong makeup look (I’ll pass on the metallic glove though). Getting back to the makeup, choose a medium coverage formulation and pat onto the skin, then blend out with a slightly damp sponge. Next top up face and body with bronzer, I like a powder formulation applied using a chubby brush. The same powder can be used on the rest of the body – my favourite way to apply bronzing powder to the skin is with a small piece of polar fleece or velveteen, try it works. Accent the eyes in shades of bronzes and golds before applying a great quality mascara (two coats).
