Window Shopping: Pull Your Socks Up

If you’ve given up frantically searching through hangers upon hangers of clothes in tiny, over flowing op-shops then you are going to love Ange Crane's and her fab site, pullyoursocksup!

Ange has taken the pain out of your second-hand shopping escapades by deciding to do it for you. Hailed as the Queen of Vintage, Ange knows exactly what is worth being bought and what is not, which can often be so hard to pinpoint.

Even if you don't have any money to burn, her blog is worth checking out just to see the amazing different things she finds....

What is it?
Ange scours op-shops nationwide and buys what she believes to be the best vintage pieces, then puts them up for sale on her blog so that people like you and me can buy them online and all from the comfort of your own home - just whip out that Westpac Visa Debitplus. Absolutely genius!

Why visit?
There is no other way you can browse vintage stores from the comfort of your computer chair. No claustrophobic little corners, no tiny changing rooms, no queues!

Plus one can pick up a lot of fashion tips and tricks from Ange’s little entries. Definitely worth a peek if you are a budding fashionista (and isn’t there a little bit of fashionista in all of us?)

Best feature?
The photos – in this case, pictures don’t lie! It’s great to see what the clothes really look like on a real person, rather than on the coat hanger. I bet you wouldn’t even think to pick some of the things she has chosen up, but she definitely makes them work.

Checking out?
Oh-so-easy. Prices are listed and range from about $20 to $100 depending on the quality of the garment. All you have to do is email her at the address provided to either express
interest or buy. She’ll organise the fine details with you. Much more personal than big online stores!

Bonus!
We agree with Ange and LOVE these red shoes. They will add the perfect dash of colour to any outfit, or as Ange says “good with a jean but also with the short frock/skirt…” They are yet to be sold so get in quick if you want to claim ownership!

Where do I start?
It’s extremely hard to get lost on this site. It’s a straight-forward, one-page blog show casing the best of the vintage world. Just visit http://pullyoursocksupnz.blogspot.com/, have a browse, and email the lovely Ange if you want to make an enquiry! Shopping has never, ever been so simple.
