Which movies are heating up the big screens this month? We take a look at some of the hottest movie releases for December… Quantum of Solace Quantum of Solace continues the high octane adventures of James Bond (Daniel Craig). Pursuing his determination to uncover the truth, Bond and M (Judi Dench) find a much more complex and dangerous situation then anyone would have imagined. On a mission that leads him to Austria, Italy and South America, in a minefield of treachery, murder and deceit, Bond allies with old friends in a battle to uncover the truth, this is definitely not one to be missed! Release date: November 26 H igh School Musical: Senior Year The third instalment of the tune-filled love story between basketball player Troy Bolton ( Zac Efron) and brainy beauty Gabriella Montez (Vanessa Anne Hudgens) is the perfect movie to take your little sister or cousin to, and you’ll enjoy it too! As the characters head toward high-school graduation, Troy and Gabriella realize that they'll be separated when they head to different colleges in the fall, so they join with their friends to produce a spring musical that will help them express their hopes and fears about the future. Release date: December 4 Madagascar 2: Escape to Africa For those young at heart, the cute and loveable zoo animals are back for their second installment. Alex, Marty, Melman, Gloria, King Julien, Maurice, the penguins and the lemurs are still stranded on the island of Madagascar. However, the cunning penguins fix up an old plane and gather the whole Zoo crew to journey back to New York. However they only get as far as the mainland of Africa. Here, Alex’s gets the chance to meet the rest of his family, however he has trouble communicating with them after all the time spent at New York Zoo. Full of heaps of laughs and crazy antics, Madagascar 2 is definitely one for the whole family. Release date: December 18 Australia The director of the modern remake of Romeo and Juilet, Baz Luhrmann brings us his new romantic drama Australia. Set in northern Australia prior to World War II, Australia centres on an English aristocrat (Nicole Kidman) who inherits a large ranch in midland Australia. When English cattle barons plot to take her land, she reluctantly joins forces with a rough-hewn cattle driver (Hugh Jackman) to drive 2000 head of cattle across hundreds of miles of the country's most unforgiving land, only to still face the bombing of Darwin by the Japanese forces that had attacked Pearl Harbor a few months prior. This is a great choice of movie for any couples, containing both some romance and action. Release date: December 25 The Curious Case of Benjamin Button For those who want to see something a little different, this movie is sure to impress. This adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald's story, stars Brad Pitt as Benjamin Button, a man born in New Orleans just after World War I, but who is already in his eighties, and proceeds to live his life aging in reverse. This film follows Benjamin’s unusual life into the 21st century as he experiences joy and sadness, loves lost and found, and the meaning of timelessness. Release date: December 26 Vicky, Cristina, Barcelona Best seen with a couple of girlfriends, this flick will have you inspired to travel the world and fall madly in love…ah! Starring the beautiful Scarlett Johansson and Penelope Cruz, Vicky, Cristina, Barcelona tells the story of two young Americans who spend a summer in Spain, indulging in everything fabulous that the country has to offer; art, music, culture and love. The two best friends become entwisted in a love web when they meet an eccentric artist and his beautiful, but estranged wife.
