Six of the Best: Summery Scents

When it comes to summer, the seductive scents usually hit the back of the shelf. But this woody, amber scent from Estee Lauder manages to be seductive and summer friendly. Honey and black pepper give the musky heart a pep of something different, whilst the airy scent of clean white florals has enough zing to make the scent a summer classic.

 

Annick Goutal has cult status overseas, where the pretty mini bottles are touted as favourites by fashion editors and celebs. For me ,Gardenia Passion is a delightful fresh, clean, feminine white floral scent made full and round by tuberose and orange blossom. Unlike the soapy Gardenia scents you so often find, this one is sweet yet different.

 

For the girls who love their scents sweet, this fresh light scent is a mix of sweet peach, black current and jasmine, softened with rose and cedar. The effect is a fun and flirty summer scent that packs some punch and depth.

 

Inspired by the apple, this scent is modern and crisp. With top notes of apple and cucumber, which dry down to an apple meets rose and amber affair. The scent is daringly different yet triumphantly classic. A personal summer favourite.

 

Green Tea is a big scent for Elizabeth Arden and in this version of the classic, it’s paired with jasmine tea at its heart. Floral shimmering blossoms of lotus are on the top note and dry down to cherry blossoms and musk. The effect is a scent which is very modern, sharp and light yet feminine and seductive.

 

This is my hands down favourite scent for summer, it just smells like what summer should! Awakening bergamot and orange forms the basis of this scent, with notes of summer fruits, coconut and a little sun lotion. If you were to bottle summer, it would be this!
