So, did the Gillette Venus Embrace deliver on its promises? We got Nadia and Ali (both serial shavers – these girls know their stuff when it comes to shaving!) to give the Venus Embrace a trial and report back on their findings…

I'm a tall girl with long legs and shaving always seems like a mammoth task, especially since I don’t do things by halves and when I shave my legs it has to be perfecto. I was super stoked to see the Venus Embrace has a moisture strip around the blades. In the past I've tried a variety of novelty razors, but they're always one shave wonders. But this moisture strip is sturdy and still looked brand new after my first shave.
My first shave was so quick, easy and successful! At the time I was a bit suss that it wasn’t getting most of my hairs as I wasn’t feeling that slightly ‘ouchy’ feeling I sometimes get as the razor blades chop at my hairs. But el presto! The five curve-hugging blades worked like magic - I did not experience any pain and I had super smooth legs without any missed spots – hallelujah! Unfortunately it doesn’t have tanning powers to make my legs ULTRA summer ready but I am well on the way to getting those short shorts and skirts out.
Ali, Graphic Designer I have used other razors before, but I like this one the best one because for me it is by far the smoothest shave I have ever experienced! I didn't get razor burn and it was very soft on my skin (considering I have sensitive skin!). I didn't even think it was possible to get this close a shave! The five blades really get virtually every single hair and the moisturising strip helps to minimise irritation. My legs are so smooth and for me it has lasted for a few days (much longer than usual!). I shaved yesterday and my legs were still smooth 24 hours later.
I like the Venus Embrace’s shape and design; it's very easy to hold and get around the back of your legs, I also use it with no problem on my underarms. Another good thing about this is the replaceable heads. They easily come on and off, and they go nicely in the razor holder. Looks wise it's very cute too, I love the blue and bright green!
