Hands up who wants to find a cute boy who with a smooth, sexy voice and drool worthy cooking skills? Well ladies, we’re happy to report that we’ve found him!
Jonny Love is one of country’s best kept secrets – well, maybe not so much any more! This kiwi lad is fast on the rise as one of New Zealand’s hottest up and coming musicians. Jonny has just released his debut self titled album, and you’ve probably heard his track ‘Not the First (Not the Last)’ pumping through the airwaves or on the telly. Think dreamy vocals mixed with a bit of dreamy guitar playing; if you like Jack Johnson and John Mayer, you’ll love Jonny!
We were lucky enough to have Jonny come into the office to whip up a special treat for us - the ‘Jonny Love Special’. Plus, it was Tee’s birthday so he even serenaded her with a gorgeous live performance - we’re in love! To find out more about Jonny click here.
The Jonny Love Special Time to prepare: This dish is quick and easy – the perfect plate of nibbles to whip up when you’ve got friends around. It’s guaranteed to impress!
The $$$: About $20 – but to put it into perspective $5 of that is for a jar of manuka honey, and you’ll only use a few spoonfuls each time so you'll get alot of use out of that one jar.
Taste Rating: Amaze! It combines two of our favourite goodies – cheese and warm bread… Let's just say it didn't last long in the office!
Ingredients
Two red capsicums
Large block of feta
Turkish bread
Manuka honey (normal honey will do)
Olives
One red onion
1: Heat oven to around 200 degrees.
2: Chop up capsicum and onion.
3: Put oil in a pan and fry capsicum and onion until golden brown (Jonny likes his capcisums crispy). His trade secret is to add a drop of balsamic vinegar for an extra hit of flavour. Add a little salt and pepper to taste, and just before taking off the pan off the heat add in the olives.
4: Cut the Turkish bread into slices and toast.
5: Put the block of feta in the middle of a roasting tray, and spread the red onion, capsicum and olives around it. Coat the feta with a dollop of manuka honey (Jonny says manuka honey is the best as its solid – runny honey drips off the side of the cheese before it glazes).
6: Pop in the oven for around five minutes or until the honey has glazed nicely over the cheese.
7: Dig in! Add a slice of the cheese, combined with honey coated grilled capsicums, red onions and olives. Delicious!
