... I have been fashion obsessed for as long as I can remember, when I was little I used to screw up my toes so my mother couldn’t get my shoes on my feet if I didn’t like them – sorry mum!... 
I'm Evelyn, I currently live in my hometown of Auckland but I’m moving to Sydney early next year to go to fashion school, which I am super excited about. Why Sydney you ask? Well I want to study fashion business as well as design, and NZ doesn’t really have any schools with a strong fashion business focus, so hence the move to Aussie. But don’t worry I’ll be back (several times a year in fact!).
Fashion is my first love and I am a massive fan of New Zealand fashion especially. We are lucky enough to have some incredibly talented and creative people in this country and we are producing some amazing collections season after season. Fashion Week is so exciting every year because of this and I was lucky enough to be a part of it behind the scenes (I’ll write some more about that another time). I’m a shopaholic in case you hadn’t already guessed and am constantly out and about looking at things in stores and online. All of my friends and family, and even anyone that’s seen my room can vouch for my love of fashion. I have clothes, shoes and accessories on every surface! Although I have taken to having several clearouts a year thanks to TradeMe, I can sell what I don’t wear and use the money to save for Aussie and buy new finds!
I think nzgirl rocks! I’ve been reading it since 2001, so it’s exciting to be a part of something I enjoy so much. Anya’s brilliant blog has provided me with so many tips and fabulous finds over the years, it’s fantastic to be working with such a lovely kindred spirit
Top 5 things I love right now:
1: Carlson ‘Lace of Spades’ dress in black (I’m wearing this is in my picture): It’s a really stunning piece. I love the beautiful lace detail on the front and the floaty sleeves, it might be delicate looking but it’s really wearable. I pair mine with leggings and colourful shoes.
2: Prada Fairy Bag from Loanmeorownme.com: Words can’t describe how exquisite it is in person! The leather is unbelievably soft with a subtle shimmer, and I think the hand painted fairies are super cute, I will be heartbroken when I have to give it back!
3: MAC lustreglass in pinkarat: So summery and pretty with just the right amount of shimmer. Perfect with sweet floral dresses and days at the races.
4: Mia Straka Floral Silk necklace from Juliette Hogan: So beautiful! I have been wearing mine constantly since I bought it. The fabric is from Juliette’s current collection and is the same one used for her amazing ‘vintage’ dresses and blouses.
5: Kathryn Wilson Tatum heels: I’m sure you’ve seen them around by now, these are totally the heels of summer, I have been wearing mine everywhere and they are really comfortable and totally hot!
