Bill and Ben, two of our fav funny boys have set their sights on not only TV domination, but also national domination!
They’ve joined forces this election year to create the Bill and Ben Party and want your vote! We sat these boys down for the lowdown on their guide to party politics… We’re not sure how they’ll go in the politics stakes, but they’ve definitely got the party bit down no sweat! Who is your political inspiration? American President George Doubleya. We figured if America can vote in one moron, why can’t New Zealand vote in two?  What’s your election platform?It’s made out of two dozen empty beer crates and some sticky tape. It’s OK, we had an adult help us make it. Why should someone vote for you? Because we’re standing up for the rights of all New Zealanders to sit down and for those New Zealanders who are currently sitting down, to lie down. We’re standing up for the little guy, who’s afraid of the big guy, who in turn is afraid that the little guys are all going to get together and stand on each others shoulders and put a coat on and look like an even bigger guy... How is your background going to help you lead the country? It’s not really but with a background in TV we’ve got big plans for parliament TV. We’re talking big; like pre-Subway Jared big. Think Country Calender meets Sex And the City wrapped up with a little New Zealand’s Idol and hosted by Jason Gunn’s head on Dominic Bowden’s body. Why would you make better leaders than either Helen Clark or John Key? We probably wouldn’t but we’d at least lead the country better than Taine Randell lead the All Blacks in the late ‘90s. At 23, he was way too young to be All Black captain. However he did lead a good haka.  What are you going to do to take them out?There is no way we’re going on a date with Helen Clark, I don’t care how much you pay us. We’d take John Key out at a push, but generally we don’t swing that way. What similarities do you have with the leaders of the major parties? We come in humanoid shape. Oh yeah, and we’re also full of shit! Do you have any vested interest in shares we should know about? No but we once watched the Golden Shears in Masterton - it was pretty boring. We decided to leave and spend a night out on the town, but unfortunately in Masterton that was even more boring! What’s the first thing you would do if you came into power? A funnel of beer. We’re planning on putting the party back in political party!
