Postcard from: Romantic Rarotonga

I’m sending you this postcard from... Romantic Rarotonga, in the Cook Islands.

 

 

My first thought when I got off the plane was... IT IS SO WARM! The air was just warm and fresh. And also, thank gosh I am finally here, I feel like I have been waiting forever.

 

 

My craziest night was… Rarotonga is a place you need to make your own fun…if you get my drift. You can go out to other resorts for some yummy cocktails, or just sit on the beach looking at the stars and watching the little crabs running around. The whole idea of Rarotonga is that you aren’t distracted by heaps of lights and entertainment… It’s just about each other.

 

It’s so different from home because... The pace of life is so much more relaxed. There is no rush to go anywhere or do anything. The natural scenery is just heavenly.

 

 

I’d like to come back next time and… Go out to Aitutaki, one of the other Cook Islands where it is a bit smaller and apparently a lot more beautiful than Rarotonga, if that’s possible. 

I recommend this place to you because... Where do I start? It isn’t to far away from NZ, but it feels like you are a million miles away from everything. There isn’t a HUGE amount of stuff to do, but whatever you do, you do it as a couple… safe swimming, snorkelling, kayaking, exploring (both in your room and out!). It is also fun renting one scooter to share and having cocktails at 4pm in the afternoon.
