The Seductive Meal Plan

When it comes to setting the scene and mood for a fabulously sexy night in with your lucky chosen one, there's no better way to win them over than with a delicious, carefully planned seductive meal.

We've got the ultimate guide to culinary seduction, with tips for creating the atmosphere and what to cook...

Prepare a light and aphrodisiac infused meal. Try mouthwatering green chili curry prawns with basmati rice followed by sensual chocolate-coated fruit...

Tasty aphrodisiacs
Chili is a sexy additive to dishes. Hot chili raises the heart beat and makes us sweat – these reactions are similar to those experienced during sex, and is considered an aphrodisiac because of this. Prawns are another sexy food. They’re full of zinc which boosts the libido enhancing hormone, testosterone, in both men and women.

Chocolate dipped fruit is both sensual and delicious. Chocolate, next to champagne and oysters, is famous for it's aphrodisiac properties, real or perceived. Chocolate contains tryptophan and phenethylamine, which may trigger feelings of pleasure. Use bananas, strawberries, and cherries – these are considered aphrodisiacs. Bananas, phallic in shape, contain an enzyme called bromelain, which may be responsible for enhanced performance in males. Cherries and strawberries have a suggestive appearance, need I say more? Prepare this seductive treat with your lover and when it is done feed each other using your fingers.

Setting the mood
But, before you go ahead with preparing seductive dinner, make sure it is just the two of you. If you have kids, get a sitter to take them off your hand. If you have flatties, bribe them with movies tickets to get them out of the house, or if you are fortunate enough, stay a night at a luxurious motel.

To set the mood, dim the room; light a few candles; and burn some incense. Play sexy background music, like Blood Sugar Sex Magik by the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Mezzanine by Massive Attack.

Green Chili Curry Prawns with Basmati Rice
Ingredients
400g prawns, shelled, de-veined and butterflied
300ml cocoanut
2 tbsp chopped coriander
Spring onions
Red capsicum pepper

For the green curry paste
2.5 fresh green peppers
½ tsp shrimp paste
Piece of ginger root
1/2 stick Lemon grass
1/4 tsp turmeric
1/4 tsp cumin
1 tsp ground coriander
Black pepper and salt
1 tbsp vegetable oil
Grated rind of half a lime
1.5 garlic gloves
3 shallots

Method
Cook basmati rice according to packet instructions. While the rice is cooking, prepare the curry. Make the curry paste by blending all the curry paste ingredients in a food processor. Blend until smooth. Place paste in frying pan with a little bit of cocoanut milk, and bring to boil. Allow paste to simmer for about 2 minutes. Add prawns. Bring to boil and simmer for 10 minutes. Stir in the rest of the cocoanut milk and allow curry to simmer for a further 5 minutes. Add coriander. Serve with rice and garnish with shredded red capsicum and shredded spring onions.

Chocolate dipped fruit
Ingredients
500g of fruit such as bananas, grapes, strawberries, cherries, apples
250 g dark chocolate (you can substitute dark chocolate with white or milk chocolate)

Method
Firstly, line a plate with waxed baking paper to stop the chocolate coated fruit from sticking. Place about 2.5cm of water into a pot; put a slightly smaller pot over top of the one with water in it. Place chocolate into the smaller pot. Heat the water until hot, but not boiling. Stir the chocolate until melted. Be careful not to get moisture into the chocolate. Dip fruit into the chocolate and place onto the wax paper and allow it to cool.
