Here are our favourite new releases from the Vodafone Live store. We’ve chosen a bit of rock, pop, RnB and dance – there's something for every girl...
Plus we had a crazy chat with the three guys (DJ's Jonny and Dave, and singer Ilan) and gorgeous girl Blue, behind the summer anthem of the year, 'Dont Hold Back', The Potbelleez! Find out about all this energetic bunch and their fav dance moves here... What’s the journey been like to get to where you are today?Ilan: It’s definitely been an enjoyable journey – you learn life lessons while you’re climbing to the top. Blue: It’s all about finding the right combination – it never happens over night. What are your fav dance moves? Ilan: The flying camel (jumps up and starts dancing) and the clock. Jonny: The vogue .jpg) Blue: I’d say the triple pirouette Dave: The blackout Any crazy fan experiences? Jonny: In the Gold Coast one chick managed to wrangle her way into my hotel room – I went up to find her naked in my bed! I called security to come and get her straight away. It was OK because I ended up getting some free champagne from the hotel to say sorry! What else are you into apart from music? Blue: Snowboarding. Jonny and Ilan: Sex! We’re all pretty good at it too! We don't know about that, but they sure make some wicked music! Read on to find out how to buy their hot single, 'Don't Hold Back' and click here to find out more about them... ‘Violet Hill’, ColdplayWith this song storming the radio stations, Chris Martin’s distinctive voice is back. It’s got more of a rock flavour than the ballads of X and Y and Rush of Blood to Head to give Coldplay a newer, edgier sound. The drum beat really gets stuck in your head! ‘Closer’, Ne-Yo This song starts with a dance beat, drops to a ballad sound, and then builds up again to a great sing-along chorus. The melodic acoustic guitar backing makes for a unique touch to the RnB genre. Definitely one for the clubs. ‘Mercy’, Duffy ‘Mercy’ has got that slow beat, jazz vibe with a bit of sexy thrown in. Hailing from Wales, her accent gives the song that extra bit of individuality and it’s reminiscent of Amy Winehouse’s style with a bit more soul. ‘American Boy’, Estelle feat. Kanye West This just makes me want to dance! With Kanye featuring in loads of duets he seems to put a magic spin on each of his songs. His light rapping with Estelle’s beautiful voice just make you want to go to New York and LA to find your own American boy to dance with! ‘Don’t Hold Back’, The Potbelleez The crazy foursome recently hit our shores and as you've already read - confided they looove to dance. With substantial radio play over the last few months we’re addicted to ‘Don’t Hold Back’. Ilan Kidron’s vocal strength to hold those notes are seriously impressive! ‘Big Energy in Little Spaces’, Opshop Opshop just seem to be getting better and better with each release. The moody chords give a real atmospheric sound so you just want to turn the volume up and up as it progresses. A new single from their double platinum album Secondhand Planet. ‘Psycho’, Puddle of Mudd A real grungy rock song from their new album Famous that’s great for when you’re in a rocking mood. It’s pretty cool they’re still going after so long, and in fact they’re rather underrated! Remember their hit ‘Blurry’ and you’ll see what I mean. Have a listen to their tracks for yourself. Click here to buy it now ‘That’s Not My Name’, The Ting Tings You’ve probably heard their song ‘Shut Up and Let Me Go’ on the iPod ad. Their latest song ‘That’s Not My Name’ has a little bit of an RnB influence to their pop-rock sound while still keeping it fun and kooky. Reminds me a bit of Stars or a female Franz Ferdinand. ‘The Only One’, The CureThe Cure are back! This is the first single from their 13th album set for release later this year. Listening to Robert Smith reaching those high notes, you can’t tell he’s actually 49-years-old! There’s a cool echoy piano backing throughout the song and the instruments all combine to give a really full, concert-style sound. The song is available for purchase now! Click here to buy it now ‘The Story’, Norah Jones ‘The Story’ is another smooth song from the lovely Norah, with effortless singing and beautifully tinkling jazz piano. Goes great with an early evening mug of coffee in the winter! It also features in the upcoming film My Blueberry Nights with the sexy Jude Law. Holly and Ramarea
